Pleasant Thoughts on a Weeknight
For the 'I Didn’t Say That Out Loud' Challenge
1.
The hate feels good:
father, work life, ambition...
Gifts for a writer?
*
2.
The night feels close:
life goes on (but what remains
with a screen's hot light?)
*
3.
The pain feels right:
routine of words, keyboard, thoughts;
routine of my hope.
*
4.
The lines feel done:
nothing left to give to you,
I find this last word.

I try not to leave one word comments but there is only one word for this poem Kendall: STUNNING!
Oh, I appreciated the list formatting and the short, punchy lines. Each word landed. Great entry :)
Kendall, a creative take on the challenge, and a quote to remember. Nicely done!
This is so clever, it is brilliant x
