Place Your Soul Under Lock And Key
Guard it with your life
What is the most precious thing you own
No it’s not your heart, as you may guess,
It’s actually your soul, your shining grace
The authentic part of you that will impress.

Own it, love it, be kind to this part of you
But never allow anyone to hurt or steal it,
Your soul is the most beautiful part of you
So only allow access as you would permit.

Beautiful one, treasure this purity of yourself
Guard it with your life, safe under lock and key,
Keep it safely hidden, tell no one where it hides
When in company ensure you never set it free.

There will always be those who’ll try to find it
As if it’s a treasure map marked with a cross,
Take note of who that is, send them packing
As this is not a time you want to suffer a loss.
***
Wait for the dead of the night, when you’re alone
Check that there is no other being in attendance,
The only other thing breathing is nature’s trees
Calling your name in spiritual transcendence.
***
It is only at this time that you have the freedom
The space to open, to take out your precious soul,
Unlock it and admire its perfection and beauty
It’s now the time to admit you have total control.

Rachel Reviews: The Spiral Archive by Pieter Hendrik
It's difficult for me to know where to start with a review of this book as it was, for me, an entirely unique experience and one that I'll probably never have again. I don't want that to be interpreted as unenjoyable but it has left me scratching my head a little and ruminating on its content, its themes and its characters.
