Place Your Presence Here, Oh God!

A cry for help, to the only one who can save; meant to be read like a Psalm

I cry out to you, oh God,

for I am under attack!

Adversaries have disrupted me!

Place your presence here, oh God!

My enemies,

like a pride of lions, surround me in the night,

hungry to devour me alive.

To the LORD my God I turn my face,

to my only light,

and away from my pride.

Place your presence here, oh God!

Turn your face to my transgressors and they will turn tail!

To Him who's compassions never fail,

The LORD is my portion.

I wait in stillness for the salvation of the LORD.

There is no other counsel I seek.

Find me here in my weakness.

Ignite the land around my feet,

that I my find my way back to you.

Guard me under the length of the moonlight,

and be my strength against those who seek to destroy me.

For I may be besieged in the night,

but this I call to mind:

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper."

Place your presence in my sight, oh God,

that the snares of my adversaries may not succeed.

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
