PIGTAILS AND CURLS
4eva friends
+*+*
Remember when we were little girls –
You with pigtails and me with curls?
We pledged our friendship would always be –
Would last beyond eternity.
+
We grew up, married and moved away,
But we communicate every day,
With letters and calls, we stay in touch,
For our friendship means so very much.
+
We still get together, now and again –
And talk of the times, way back when.
Now, there’s laughter about our graying hair
And the extra pounds found here and there.
+
Although the years have pulled us apart,
You’re still my sister in my heart.
I know if I need you, you’ll be there,
With arms open wide to show that you care.
+
Through laughter, tears, and hearts on the mend,
Nothing can make our friendship end,
For I remember when we were girls,
You with your pigtails and me with my curls.
