You look at me disdainfully. Contempt

has filled your heart and blurred a piece of you

beyond civility by disrespect.

What hate has bred this scene, this vile issue?

-

Where lies the harm done in you, claimed neglect,

and hate pronounced against the dark colors?

Am I, therefore, guilty by effect,

committed years before my own numbers?

-

How harshly I am judged, due to pallid,

unsought genetics, beyond my control,

and for decades to come, be intertwined

with bone and marrow, I cannot conceal.

-

There is nothing unpaid to debts you fame,

and I am not willing to live in blame.
