Pieces of change

I want my power back

It is mine and not yours

I gave it away to you, but I did not mean to

I ask nicely, but also not asking at all

I get mine and you get yours

We have our own for a reason

Thank you for thinking this would keep me safe

But I now know what I need to survive

I'm stronger now, I’ve changed

I fell apart so I could put the pieces back together

And I chose to put them back together differently 

This was intentional

I was planning to change all along

To become someone new, someone better

Someone who has always been worthy

I feel egotistical saying these words

But its not ego at all

It's full of love and admiration for what I went through and who I became

For staying strong and creating such a large change

This is not where my story ends

This is where my new life begins

You are still learning how to understand this transformation

Well now it's our turn to show you our creation

You said we were too weak to have our own power

But when you take away your fear and stop the push and shove

you start to see how we rise in true love

We stand up, we stand tall, in this new we

For when we all stand together, we become free

The celebrations might have stopped

But we are going places whether you like it or not

The journey has just begun

This is the fun part

The unknown part

The exciting part

One foot in front of the other

On the yellow brick road

Each step is something to uncover

Each step is paved with gold

There is magic in the air, you can already feel and see

There is a spark that has ignited deep within thee

Here’s to all the change, the love, the joy and the risk

I stand tall on this new journey with a heartfelt hug and kiss
