Might I love myself better by being honest

Shining light on my deep, hidden truth

Walking through memories, those of my fondest

Greeting each vision as photo finish proof

~

Praise myself for permitting recapture

Developing the film, giving it a frame

No picture is at risk of overexposure

I've wiped off the lens, given it my name

~

Clearer eyes pose a different angle

A closer look at background shadows

My alter ego, a grey space entangle

Who dodges noon for pre-dawn meadows

~

Click, click, click, how the camera shutters

Love of light and shadow, the fine print utters

From the photo. I could tell that the rhythm would be in line with how graceful I'd imagine her movement — your movement. I was right once I got to reading. I like how this is centred around self love. The camera as a companion or a tool you use to learn yourself — find your deepest secrets. Was very clever. I see you've learnt how not to speak harshly to yourself, once you've found something. That's a beautiful thought to display, and you've done that very well. Absolutely love the shadows, the natural form of shadows in a photograph becoming your alter ego. I love how this did not just, engage by heart, but also my brain. Love that! Outstanding work Marilyn. Oh and one more thing. The click click was also a good idea to include at the end. 🤗❤️

Simply beautiful, Marilyn. I love the language and how you've pulled me into the metaphor. Wonderful.

  • "Praise myself for permitting recapture Developing the film, giving it a frame No picture is at risk of overexposure I've wiped off the lens, given it my name" I especially loved those lines!

  • Your sensory language is beautiful ❤️
