Tis’ the end of the road — burned out to the core,

I could not go on anymore —

Dissolved into a puddle of nothingness

What was left felt hollow and grey —

An empty shell

I forgot to feel me

The well had dried up

The darkness got thicker

Out of nowhere, a faint memory emerged —

about the music

Thawing my heart

An iridescent spark

And the warmth lit up my bones

Whispers of milk and honey

Remember —

You’re welcome on this earth;

Go on and do some living

“Phoenix rising from the ashes” comes from the Greek mythological bird, the phoenix, which is known for being reborn from its own ashes. The phoenix is a symbol of immortality, renewal, hope, and life after death, and is associated with the sun god in both Greek and Egyptian mythology.
