This poem was inspired by the Pharos Lighthouse of Alexandria—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the first beacon to guide ships through darkness. But Pharos was more than stone and fire. It held human stories: of longing, of waiting, of light that tried to reach the forgotten. This poem blends the legacy of Pharos with the belief that every lighthouse has a heart.
Pharos – The Story Beneath the Stone
Pharos was not just a lighthouse—
it was a heart that kept glowing
long after its stones had fallen.
Each level held a story,
each beam a message
that never reached its waiting soul.
It guided ships, yes—
but it also guided spirits
lost in a sea without shore.
Pharos was not built of stone alone,
but of sailors’ tears
and names written on waves.
I’m not writing about a structure—
I’m writing about a light
that longed to love,
and became a wonder.
