Phantom Hand

A Lost Love Poem

Photos taken by a phantom hand

Broken memories on demand

Ruins of the life that I had planned

Hopes held fast by self-reprimand

Flashbacks to better times in a distant land

Fading footprints on black sand

Taking all my self-command

To not mark those shots with a blazing brand

Those distant memories captured by you firsthand

To not erase those views so grand

Where I again shall never stand

For fear of memories that will outstand

The moments captured by your phantom hand

Hang in there, buddy. <3

Very sweet to reassure a friend that even though the time has passed it isn’t over.

This is a masterclass in effective rhyming. Each word drives the emotion deeper. Wonderful piece!

  • Oh my, that was so sad. I hope Ru would be okay 🥺

This one carries a deep, haunting sadness, wrapped in beautifully flowing rhymes. The repetition strengthens the weight of loss, and that last line—oof, it lingers. A poignant tribute. Hope Ru finds their way through.
