wrapped in sheets of gray like stone

i lie here motionless

my movement imperceptible

but my eyes are like pits of seeping lead

my throat a throbbing magma chamber

my heart a massive glacial river

cracked down to the earth

who knows what ghost bodies lie within?

i lie and wait

in the darkness

like a mummy waiting to sail into the afterlife

reaching for the sun that smolders

my eyes

i know this is not my home.
