In a world of waves and ships so grand,
Lived Pete, the pirate, with a leg half-manned.
His peg leg, a wobbly, wooden surprise,
Made Pete the pirate quite the funny prize.
With a patch on one eye and a hat on his head,
Pete sailed the seas, where adventures spread.
His parrot, named Chuck, squawked with glee,
"Half a leg, but a pirate's life for me!"
On the ship, Pete hopped, a one-legged dance,
Chuck on his shoulder, in a feathery trance.
To find hidden treasures, they sailed the sea,
Pete, the half leg pirate, as happy as can be.
Through storms and calm, with laughter and cheer,
Pete's peg leg wobbled, never causing fear.
His shipmates laughed, "He's a sight to behold!"
As Pete told tales, his adventures untold.
In every cove and on every shore,
Pete, the half leg pirate, had tales galore.
He'd dig with his peg, searching the sand,
For treasures buried, so precious and grand.
When the moon lit the waves, and the stars did shine,
Pete sang pirate songs, in a voice so fine.
"Yo ho ho!" echoed over the sea,
Half a leg, but a pirate's heart so free.
So here's to Pete, the jolly pirate true,
A peg-legged legend with a hearty crew.
In the world of seas, where the funny tales spin,
Pete, the half leg pirate, forever will grin!

Wonderful poem, Anna. I could imagine this sung as a Sea Shanty. I loved the line - "Half a leg, but a pirate's life for me!" Well done!
