Peace

—For Jane Eyre

Dear Jane,

I am so exhausted I can’t even think of anything poetic. Exhausted physically, but it’s more like my soul. My soul is tired of this feeling, of this agony, of this fear, of this pain.

I miss you, my dear friend.

But more than that, I want us to both have peace. I have been tormented as you have, in varying measures and in similar but different ways, and I long for that feeling of feeling at peace.

I feel relative inner peace, it is outside circumstances that create something that envelopes my mind, body and soul into a deep pit of chaotic terror.

I miss you. I know I just wrote that. I just wanted you to know you’re always in my thoughts.

Yours sincerely, in friendship and love,

Edward
