Peace can't be sacrificed

Growth in Unfair Soil

The seed planted in the ground

is humbled by the gift of choice.

While growing toward its full potential,

it must fight off invaders

who threaten its roots.

Not yet at full strength,

it pushes forward —

but learns to surrender to caution.

When mercy passes it by,

faith in rescue

feels unrealistic.

It accepts a hard truth:

protection from damage

is a virtue reserved for the lucky.

Still, it sprouts.

No matter how unfair the odds,

life depends on how close it reaches

to the sun.

Gasping for air.

Gasping for life.

To the seed in darkness,

they are the same.

Moments of hope

become fuel for potential,

even when reality says otherwise.

“Why won’t the seed stop?”

they ask —

never seeing the bias

rooted in life itself.

This seed has fought long and hard,

yet the best soil and light

have always evaded it.

If it grows slowly while asking for more,

the world calls it lazy.

If it thrives despite the darkness,

others call it arrogant.

Ambition burns in every seed,

but the will to grow

through constant struggle

is forged only by years of resilience.

Many will critique this seed.

Me?

I’m simply proud

it made it this far.
