Past lovers

We met again

By Erica woguPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Today, I saw him in a shopping mall with his wife and two children.

It's been five miserable long years. Nothing's the same. The curls on his head I used to love has straightened.

The heels I used to admire, has flattened.

The eyes I used to adore, has darkened

The voice I used to crave, has harshened

Everything about him was changed.

As soon as our eyes met, thousands of questions crossed my mind.

How has he been?

Is he happy?

Does he still remember me?

Does he still love me?

I decided to break the silence. "How are you?" I asked

Oh! I'm fine

How are you too? He replied.

I knew he was lying

How can he be fine

After all this?

"Do you still remember me"? I questioned. He smiled.

Then his wife called their daughter by my name from afar, and at this point, I got all the answers to my questions.
