Paralyzed
Little flutters of the heart and head.

The first time I saw it I felt paralyzed.
I once fell off a horse onto my back and the cold air left my body.
Feeling as if I would never walk again I was lifted up and told to get back on.
I was held in place by the thought that I wouldn't want to fall again.
This is the same feeling I had the first time I saw it, the thing that made me fall.
The eyes of a man so pure, I couldn't help but feel like all of the air had left my lungs again.
But there he was as mobile as ever, sauntering towards me with an ease I had never known.
It was only once I felt the warmth of his hand touch my arm that I realized this was real.
It was not a figment of my imagination pulling me further into a dream.
It was him and his eyes, and his hair, and his clothes. Everything about him made the air leave me and enter me all at the same time.
It was as if I had been paralyzed and given life again.
I knew with that one look he gave, I had fallen, only to get back up again and know that I wouldn't want to do it over.
Like never wanting to fall off of another horse, I wouldn't want to fall for another person.
For the one who breaths life into you, the one who helps you to feel both paralyzed and completely alive is the one you give your heart to.

Calamity and Calm
more than just words on a page, but feelings that I can no longer keep enclosed in the vicinity of my heart or mind.
