"Speak the truth, even when your voice shakes"

-Maggie Kuhn

there is beauty in the fragile fighter

for that may be the only beauty to find

for we are both fragile and fighters

Broken and strong

At once strengthened and torn down

By an unfamiliar world

though this world would mind us meek

stepping unshod on slippery rocks

our voices shake with our steps

but we skip not words nor ground

solace in each other

amplifying

the nervous bravery

as we settle into our voices

Learn the nuances of the spaces

Between the unspoken

there is beauty in the fragile fighter

we protect ourselves, so we can serve others

ironic, almost

considering

the scars embedded in our duality

Moths –

Broken by daylight

sheltering from the rain

Before taking flight into a darkness yet

unknown

though our lungs are running out of air

it will not stop us from speaking

bravery we've found

is saying the hard parts out loud

there is beauty in the fragile fighter

and peace in the knowledge of each other

Knowing that someday

This too shall pass.

For there is beauty in the fragile fighter

paper warriors folded into people

‒–The only beauty to find is in a fragile fighter, and we all are fragile and a fighter? Wow 😯😍 ‒– β€˜we protect ourselves so we can serve others’ you have my complete respect for this line ‒– I love how the poem comes in weaves, rising and falling. ‒– β€˜peace in the knowledge of each others’ this line among all the others is a powerful force at bringing us all together. No one can stand apart from the other after reading this poem. You are making a difference. ‒– that last line took me to the clouds, I am now at peace and one with everybody and everything ~ what an outstanding entry to Jbaz's unofficial Boil, boil, toil, and trouble challenge

Power and fragility joined in thoughtful words, I specially love the lungs running out of air, that still will speak, that's brilliant!

The fragile fighters are the most powerful because they truly know what's at stake. Excellent.

Fragile fighter is so evocative. Aren’t we all (or most) spirits wrapped in hope?
