Paper flowers

Don’t have thorns beside their blooms

Paper flowers

Don’t lose their petals in the winter

Paper flowers

Don’t wilt and beg for water

Paper flowers

Don’t rise up out of the dirt

Paper flowers

Can be paper-thin without starving

Paper flowers

Get picked without losing their color

Paper flowers

Don’t want other flowers around for comparison

Paper flowers

Are all the same

Paper flowers

Don’t bury roots underneath

Paper flowers

Don’t need a garden to grow

Paper flowers

Don’t come alive when they’re pollinated

When they’re so much prettier

As dry prints

In a frame

On the wall
