A thousand wishes folded up—
Paper wings that will never fly—
Bound on a string and brightly dyed.
Mystic cranes each dream envelop.
Wishes, hopes, and dreams they pile up,
All crushed by broken hearts and lies.
A thousand wishes folded up:
Paper wings that will never fly.
Fold up each wish in paper white,
All those broken hearts and breakups,
Every injury and shakeup—
God willing, paper wings will fly.
A thousand wishes folded up.
