Pain & Suffering

A Cynical Acrostic Sonnet

Please believe the worst of human nature

As Machiavellian motives rule

In sneering disbelief in selflessness

Never was the world gentle and cruel

& while at it here is a crude wager

Support any side to become a mule

Until your unconscious in helplessness

Freaks out more than wonted with its fuel

Fan out your soul if you can locate it

Every level needs to be passed in tow

Remember to water your budding wit

Inciting your ego to nurse a blow

Native of this Earth as long as you thrive

Gains are disdained when the meaning is jive
