Pack my love
with your socks

You say you are leaving me
Long to disappear
Into the wilderness
You are perfectly clear
That you want to lead
The bohemian life
Away from the hustle
The bustle and the boring
Am I that boring to you
Sure I am more organised
More together as you say
So thought I'd help
By telling you how
To go about it
How to get away
Leave without trace
First you need to pack your bag
All the things you need
When you have gone
Are alone
Away from me
Be sure to take three pairs of socks
At least and more underpants
A change of shirt
Two pairs of jeans
Toothbrush and such
But while you're packing
Don't forget to take my love with you
You won't have a car but if you want
I'll drive
Just like that time
When we rode the Pacific Highway together
Remember how we stopped to watch the sunset
Catch the breeze
But please don't let such memories
Put you off your plan
You know you can leave me if you want to
I know you can
If you don't want to ride in my car
You can go just as far
By taking the bus
It stops right outside
Have you ever taken the bus
I know you make a fuss about waiting
Standing in line
Your lot is not to stand around
You who is forever
Moving on
Trains are a good way to get away
But buy a ticket first
They fine you if you don't
And I know you will be short of cash
If you plan to live off your poetry
As you say you will
But will you write any more for me
I'll miss your quirky verse
Those lines invested with love
But don't let that dissuade you
From your mission
To disappear
Take some money
There's plenty in my purse honey
It won't be the first time
You have helped yourself
Draw all your cash out of the bank
If you have any
Don't use your card to pay
That way they won't be able to trace you
From bar to bar
But if you plan to go far away
Don't forget to take my love with you
For if I never hear from you again
I'll always keep a place
For you
In this heart
Of mine

I love a good romantic poem. ๐
"Take some money There's plenty in my purse honey It won't be the first time You have helped yourself" That seems to imply that he's been stealing her money. So why is she being so good to him. Perhaps, it's trauma bond. Loved your poem!
I loved this, such a great take on the challenge. Every line was a perfect declaration of love, understanding, and acceptance. No begging to stay or pleading to change their mind. Just gentle reminders that you love them and want them to be happy. I think my most favorite part was when you offered to drive. "If you wanna leave me can I come too?"-Bryan Adams
