Overstuffed

Every time I sit down in my overstuffed chair,

The songs they shout from the braids of my long and pretty hair,

They come unbidden as they will,

Bouncing here and there,

For every gift there is a price,

It’s pretty steep but fair.

~

I guess I’m a verbal acrobat,

A goddamn Kanye genius,

Thoughts they hit my brain, my heart, my head, my lips,

No secrets come between us.

The epitome of slick,

a little bit ridic,

Ever present wisdom of Wheaton,

“Hey, don’t be a dick.”

~

I've aged like swiss cheese, baby, holy though I never prayed,

Opinions slicing through the crowd of this arcade.

I'm the master of the mic, and the pace you can't deny,

Once I take my place, I always do or die.

~

Now I paint my pictures with a process so vivid,

In a future so full of hope, that you'll wonder how I did it.

Waving round the brush with the rush of the limelight,

It’s all a matter of grace if I get the timing right.

Then I break it down, piece by piece, line by line,

Got the tism rizz as gift from on high.

I'm that mad operator, the insane rhyme creator,

A wizard with the word, a master vocal prater.

~

Solomon summoned a blistering fiend,

Sit back, relax, and stick your hand in the stream,

Catch a brand new vibe and begin a brand new dream

Of building a palace from the walls of Jericho,

The trick to it all is to simply let your thoughts go

Wherever they will, follow the spill,

It all ends up in the same landfill.

~

I keep spitting these rhymes, no end in sight,

Riding on a wave so bodacious, I hang ten to hang tight.

I'm speaker of the damned, a ghoulish stockbroker,

I’m always quite a gamble, like playing lyrical poker.

So when I hit the stage, you know it'll be a show,

With a cadence so smooth, they make your body go

WHOA!

~

And as a special treat, just for you:

About the Creator

Aaron Richmond

I get bored and I write things. Sometimes they're good. Sometimes they're bad. Mostly they're things.
