Overdue A Top Story Here?
I know my poetry is good.
Not perfect. Not polished to death.
Good because it is lived in.
Good because it is mine.
I have written when no one was looking.
Posted when no one clapped.
Stayed when others left.
Built something brick by brick.
Three thousand four hundred pieces.
That is not luck.
That is showing up
again and again and again.
I read the Top Stories.
Some are strong.
Some are fine.
Some I quietly think,
mine stands beside that.
So yes, I feel it now.
Not anger.
Not jealousy.
A question is sitting in my Head
Am I not overdue.
Not for praise.
Not for confetti.
Just for one clear nod
that says we see you.
I am not chasing noise.
I am not copying trends.
I am writing the way I always have,
with truth and a bit of stubborn fire.
And when it comes,
because I believe it will,
I will not act surprised.
I will smile,
log in as I always do,
and start the next poem.
Because that is what writers do.
