Some days the coffee can’t get strong enough,
the traffic is hopelessly stupid,
a dull boredom hovers over everything,
persistent as fog, stubborn as a cactus.
The grey sky has nothing to do with weather,
rain and sun are equally impossible,
and the clouds aren’t going anywhere,
they’ve nothing better to do than follow me
through my day and into the night,
stealing my shadow, highlighting nothing,
just thickly interfering with earth and light,
coquettishly admiring their own reflections
in stagnant ponds and lakes.

Love the use of coquettishly and this is how I've felt at many times in my life but especially this year..
