Outlet

A Lack of Energy

Sometimes I feel like a portable power bank,

The one that has outlets for everything, but needs to be recharged.

I have a million outlets for my love,

My family is quite large

And blood's not all it's made of.

There's an outlet for each and every hobby,

As numerous as the stars.

There's an outlet for society

Because sometimes going out is hard.

There's one for all the household chores

That control my thoughts until I sleep.

I have two each for school and driving when it pours

And one for counting leaping sheep.

I was told to keep an outlet for my health,

Because I'm responsible for taking care of me.

Now I'm older and they claim it's better to have wealth

But don't they see I'm losing energy?

Still I listen, and add another outlet to get me farther...

And would you believe me if I said

I've gone and lost my charger.
