Our Water Is In Danger

Mid-thought, mid-walk, and mid-sentence

Challenge: Write a poem that takes place mid-thought, mid-walk, or mid-sentence.

Water ceremony on Sunday

Why not on Monday

women and men

prayers, and then

songs and walking

and plenty of talking

~

why do that instead

of helping to spread

the word about addiction

recovery and affliction

priorities are important

no water is all-important

~

Look a squirrel

hollering a referral

get this done

it is not fun

but must be done hon

getting the word out

our water is in trouble, I shout

hasn't much clout

but many more others

you my brothers

can get it done, if I had my druthers

I really like how this flows mid-thought, shifting between ceremony, reflection, and urgency.
