Into the shadows

beyond our Active Duty members

See the invisible

See the backbone

They are always there

Next to

Above

Behind

And most importantly

Within

Our Patriots

They are the sky

The warm sunshine through the windows

They are the foundation

The bricks and mortar holding them up

They are the wind

Sending kisses across and beneath oceans

They are the sustenance

Fueling them forward

Pulling our HEROS through the dark

They are the hope

The lifeline

The waiting

The praying

The pining hearts Breaking

They are the farewells

And they are the homecomings

Through pride

Through pain

They remain steadfast, yet they hold loneliness

They endure , yet they sacrifice greatly

They are brave, yet they are broken

They are wounded and worried …

Yet appreciative and supportive

They are the hearts of

Mothers

Fathers

Children

Spouses

Partners and lovers

They are love

They are pride

They are strength

They are “Dependants”

Yet they are depended upon

They are often unseen

Unappreciated

Unacknowledged

Ignored

And forgotten

In this country of struggles

This nation of uncertainty

Our country’s promise and future is only as strong

As the military families who hold it up

Think of them

Pray for them

Thank them For THEIR service
