We shout at the top of our lungs, "We love you"

and then mash our mistake into your flesh

you are the foundation which we were born,

the basis of all life,

the mother to all children that ever were

and to all the ever will be

you brought to us what we needed

when we did not know we needed it,

nurturing us by the fruit of your body

and in return we have suffocated you

we pump your lungs with poison

while we leave our unwanted belongings behind,

littering your body with trash,

mashing it further into your flesh,

as we mame you children or murder them

in the name of sustinance and civilization,

while we plee "mother save us!"

while we lie "there is no other way of life than this",

but it is greed that is killing you,

money

and the hungry man scrambling to gobble it up,

hoard it under his bed while others go hungry

while his business burns your saccred flesh,

and he can change it all,

but lies in his mansion in content

while you lie in watch,

powerless

dying

there will come a day,

when you find enough strength within you,

that all we have done will turn to regret

as our children die of disease

as our lands burn to the ground

and our homes and sentimental belongings

are taken away with the lick of the flames

there will come a day she will make us

repay what we have already stolen,

a day she will make us repent

for how we have marred her flesh

and wiped out the children she molded herself

with such care

with such love

just as we mold ours

About the Creator

Hope Hausman

I am someone who loves to write and who sees everything as a movie waiting to be written inside her head! Unfortunately, I'm also a writer with little confidence in myself. Hopefully, this helps!
