Our Last Goodbye
No moving on together it is over now

Our Last Goodbye
The air is thick with what’s unsaid,
A thousand words, but none are led.
The silence screams, it grips, it binds,
A final tear, the heart unwinds.
We stood at the edge, yet neither moved,
Bound by love, yet both removed.
You whispered softly, but I couldn’t hear,
As time stood still, and then drew near.
Our hands, once whole, now split apart,
Two strangers, though we share a heart.
The warmth once there has turned to frost,
And what we had, now feels so lost.
I wish you well, but in my soul,
A deep ache lingers, takes its toll.
For love is not just what we say,
But what we feel and give away.
So this is it, the end, the close,
The final curtain, the last of those
Who once believed, with hearts entwined,
That love could last, and time be kind.
Our last goodbye, with tear-streaked eyes,
A love that faded, a dream that dies
No love left a marriage over now
A future to start again for me somehow
Goodbye my first love Goodbye

Well put
This is something I think we all had to live through, and words make it easy to do. Good work.
Wow. All the way from the first kiss to the last goodbye. These were all lovely and poignant Marie. Fantastic work. 🥰
