half dry creek coma

i was watching Repo Man

(again)

and i had

a bit

of a bingle

i swerved in a curve

that wasn’t there

hit a deer and a rabbit

a plot twist and a bear

missed the hump

undercooked rump

a culinary bump

trip to the dump

trip to the tip

trip to a refuse transfer station

a trip from a migratory nation

or fly south for the winter

fly west for the cheer

fly north for the sunshine

fly east for the beer

fly anywhere wit h Qantas

Dustin Hoffman

stuttery smart fuck

in a movie

playing a part

get in a lift

drop a wet fart

no follow through

no wet arsed boo hoo

no autographing

thereof the gusset

just a dead lunch stench

that’s gonna waft

right on up

to the fourth floor

got nothing against

dead actors, guild members

thespians and the like

and so why then

when we’re bewildered

is Christ on a bike

we know it’s the pope

out alone

snapping one off

deep in the woods

the only bear nearby

got hit earlier on

in the poem

so we’re just gonna grin

and in the absence

of a real live bear

course i wouldn't

it, is just it

and a sea of silly smiles

and is, as in what

like a then now

and rather than now

its then

a chicken laid the same egg twice

or so she thought

she didn’t give a cluck

beer filtered through humans

is a tonic for the sea

a splash on the lemon tree

anywhere on the weeds

and my words

they are my deeds

mostly

Mostly...

i want to scream for the cheese

i want it scrummy

i want it gummy

on a piece

of fuckin

toastee

a cup of tea

is nice with toast

but not the cheese

no storming in this vessel

no rough seas

yet no fair warning

of the displaced

and the displeased

Minties

i'm not gonna say it

mighta been

onto something

cause its definitely

moments

like

these

This was such a wild poem, I loved it! Especially loved the rhyming and repetition. Very cool!

A wild, chaotic ride through absurdity and randomness, blending humor with unexpected turns, all wrapped in a quirky stream of consciousness.

Loved the rhythm of this and the way one thing flowed into the next. Really well done :)
