When I first was handed this site,
In a cardboard box tied with a bow,
I kept it in my pocket for someone to show me how to use it properly.
But no one came.
I forgot about it, until one day, I dropped my pen into my pocket
And down the rabbit hole I searched
Until my hand brushed it, still crisp and clean
The bow only slightly slouching
Vocal Media, I read from the card where your voice can be spoken.
But still, I didn't think much of writing.
So I kept it in my pocket there, a little rugged up.
Between the bells and flowers
Pretty leaves and shiny rocks, it fell asleep, waiting.
Until I remembered, one day, the pen I had dropped!
Down into the abyss I crawled,
A little obscure inside the chaos it held.
It glowed with joy at seeing me again,
But came to notice how my hand shook and my eyes constantly wept.
Then it hopped itself over, that little cardboard box
And the white bow was graceful as I untied the knot.
I let the creativity possess me
Frankly, I'll never let it leave.
We complete each other without bursting our seams
Imperfect and nocturnal, we share what we think
Our stomachs do not grumble because we remember to eat
Up every sensory wonder of the light pouring in the little rabbit's den.
Which brings us to here, friends.
2025! We're emotionally attached,
A new idea comes; we write, no holding back.
Words, words, words, the picture perfect escape path
Of loop-de-loops
And hula hoops
Unravelling that always begins at where we started.
But ends with feeling a little bit lighter...
Bright, like that white bow that I still keep in my pocket,
The picture perfect size for a little cardboard box I hope others will like.

[insert sentimental stuff here]
Thanks for staying and hanging out in my little corner of the internet!
I guess what this is metaphorically trying to say is that Vocal is a cardboard box with a white bow- what?
No, no that's not right. Jeez, rhyme, okay. If I have to, I'll oblige. Ha. I thought you might like that line..
Alright.
I'm planning to publish a collection of poetry. An anthology.
[excited squealing; concerned looks from my dog]
Vocal readers, writers, commenters, likers: Thank you.
You've helped me grow. You've helped me write a LOT of bad stuff that will remain in the deep, deep depths forever, but all this has helped the good stuff float upwards.
It is a passion of mine to write now, and I've come to use it as a reason to explore the world. Not the sole reason, of course, but a good chunk of the reason I might think outside the box and encourage myself to really consider each moment graciously.
Ah, the times we live in.
Yep. That's about it...
If you're curious, the anthology will most likely release in August, but it will be well pampered and polished up until then, don't worry!
Details and updates will be posted in my author bio, so stay tuned.
That's it for now; thanks for reading and whatnot 💖
