Optimism

Hoping For a Silver Lining

By John WelfordPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

As it headed towards bankruptcy

The company racked up huge losses.

The plan was that the business would keep trading

Hoping the losses would not be permanent

But now it all looks shaky

And the creditors are calling in their loans.

Now all I see is the future crashing down.

I feel my world crumble around me.

I can't help but look for silver linings -

Another job will come along, I know it,

But these are hard times in the economy.

I've been fired before so it won't be the end of the world.

I'm not a young man anymore so it will take time to start over again

But then again, with any luck and a little hard work

I could be back at the top in no time.
