Opened my eyes

To see yet be unseen

By Raymond G. TaylorPublished 6 months ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read

Opened my eyes to see you angel

The dark outline of brow and lash

Came crashing into my consciousness

As I awoke from a dreamless slumber

In a place full of people

Emptied by your presence

The apex of a nose so noble

Dark hair gathered tightly behind

A perfect head

Gold wristwatch appears pale

Against a skin more golden

Cupid lips

Pink and lush

Sure to start a rush of blood

Not to mention adrenaline

Focussing my attention

On the cool exquisite aura

Of your presence

Meant to be distant

Aloof

Proof you are unattainable

And I unable to break the spell

And tell you how

You have made me feel

Made my thoughts reel

Inspired me to lay bare my soul

Inadequate in this

Clumsy
