Sometimes in order to grow

We have to let go of things we think we know

Lots of things in life are open to interpretation

So we have to be open to change our thinking

Don’t be a hostage to foolish pride

We are aloud to change how we feel inside

Growth starts with an open mind

And our willingness to give others our time

So the next time you sit down with someone different

I hope you open yourself up and truly listen

Sometimes the best wisdom we could acquire

Is found in places we would never aspire

People are hardly ever what we judge them to be

We have to stop looking on the surface you see

How many people have we passed by

That could have been pivotal to our lives

Had we just taken a second to look around

Who knows the love and connections we could’ve found

So lets try and get to know one another

And realize there’s always more to the book than the cover
