Oneness

Three In One

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I’m asking you Father please lend me a hand

This message is needed but few understand

With more years behind me than what’s left ahead

I’d rather pen something that honors instead

The opening verse in the Gospel of John

It speaks of the Word and the mission He’s on

It reads like a mystery, compelling and odd

Explaining the Word and the Oneness of God

The Word was with God and this God has a Name

They’re both (with the Holy Ghost), One and the same

The Word became flesh in the verse of fourteen

When Jesus, now human, appears on the scene

If two without one means there’s no God at all

Then one without two means His Kingdom would fall

The Son’s not the Father, nor Father the Son

All three form the Godhead and can’t be undone

This poem’s to explain when confusion may strike

Of three distinct “persons” existing alike

As water is liquid, or vapor, or ice

I hope this comparison made will suffice

fact or fiction
