One Should Fight
Individualism takes a fighter's spirit.
The draw of the dollar
Can bring a man to labor.
Whatever the color of his collar,
He will enrich himself and his neighbor.
But one’s self must come before all others
The selfish sense comes even before the feelings
Of our brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers.
Self-interest should have no ceilings.
The virtue of individual minds
Is the power that is brought into the light of truth.
What someone often finds
Is that spoken words can mean couth.
Morality is not a demand but a choice.
It is up to each person to think on his or her own.
Every single human should rejoice.
They should stand on their thinking alone.
Selfishness is the only path of what’s right.
It’s the only ethics for which one should fight.

Breath issued from Angelica’s mouth. The weight of the baby put her into her chair. Her curves managed to say she had not been with child the whole time. There seemed to be a fantastic ideal swimming somewhere in her mind about the hazards of caring for two. She grabbed a magazine and fanned herself, knowing that she expended more energy in that effort sitting still and letting the air conditioning do the job. No, she told herself, without struggle there is no triumph. She switched on the television set. The picture looked as people had been replaced by blue aliens and she just watched her soap opera, void of extraterrestrials for this time.
