One More Chance

a plea and a prayer

When morning breaks with just a glitter,

A shiny, sparkling spot reveals a dawn.

Then birds call out a chirp, "It's ok to move, little critter!"

First a rabbit, next follows a very shy fawn.

*

The world has been granted a renewal of sorts,

Another chance to get things right and each do good.

The sun revs up its light like the prisms on a quartz

Every ray is gentle and warm; its message understood.

*

Nature waits in hopeful apprehension each morn

And prays we learn more as the circle revolves

Let us please bring joy and peace, leaving behind scorn,

For dawns are gifts given by Grace as mankind evolves.

Your words in ‘One More Chance’ are beautifully honest and touching. I felt every emotion as if it were my own—truly a heartfelt plea for hope and reconnection.

Your poem sounds as gentle and as magical as the morning when it greets us. The birds, the shy fawn. What a beautiful attention to detail. The morning brings with it many things. Oh yes that's right. It does give us another day to do things right. That last line is almost... I would say, divinely written. I had such a clear head after reading this, wow. Very pleasant indeed, well done this was everything and more. 👌🏾👏🏾❤️
