One Last Visit

The memories all came back

One Last Visit

Walking into the house again

Of the memories that bled

I remember it so well

Yet it was so different now

New owners brought new life

Of where I would visit for most of my life

Some things did remain the same

I miss the times that were so great

Of all the meals my Grandma made

The times I ran as a child

Seemed so silly but now they are comfort

The room where Grandpa sat

Set up so differently in fact

I miss them so since they have passed

So many events happened there

And the pictures without my art on the walls

The laughter and the time we spend in childhood dreams

Yet it is someone else’s now

To build their own memories

I never got to say goodbye

And now I did this time

Oh, how time just keeps going

Yet the past never seems to be so far away

Seeing one last time brings back the days of old times
