One Last Time

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

All my unspoken love pouring out onto my face as tears,

your lost presence has let me lose half of myself.

I can only feel with half a heart

the other dying with you that day

and no other bonds can fit in the hole that was once filled by your love,

your joy,

your life.

I am torn between moving forward or staying in my purgatory

one that keeps you here with me

even if it's not physically.

If I had known what our last time would be,

I would ask for one more last time

be prepared to say goodbye and let you know all my unspoken love.

One last time to have your hug and know that though you're not here

you are

and I'll be okay in the world of the living

whilst you watch in the world of the beyond.

Oof, this one hits right in the feels. Grief and love tangled up in a heartbreaking hug. Well done!
