one date

All it is

Take your time

Hand in your lap

Wait.

***

One date

He said

I knew when I saw

Him in the room

One date was not just once

***

He sits

And I want to run

He has not seen me yet

Run, you can

my mind says

But a joke he does say

Now I can’t help but

But grin

One date he said

***

One rule I give

I won’t fall for this man

It is only one date

What bond can even rise in that time

***

I want to take my time

But I see

That this date

I want it to last

The only rule I had

Even that did not last

The old bards had nothing on you Jazzy. Your poem is so many faceted, so much in between the lines, you are gifted my dear.

  • Awww, the part where he says a joke and she grins. I've always had a thing for the guys who can make me laugh. Your poem felt nostalgic to me!

  • You are gifted ☺️
