Once, I would do things madly for you,
I danced with pain, swallowed rage and
denied I was human.
I painted the skies with dreams
of tranquility you could pull down
and still stayed back.
I drowned in your words
even when I knew how shallow
they were.
Lost in your eyes,
in a gaze I knew wasn’t true,
but still I wandered,
lost in the mirage
of a love I could never grasp.
I built castles on sand
that the tides swept away,
clung to promises
like fragile stars in the dawn.
Once, I would do things madly for you,
traded my heart for a fleeting hope,
only to find, in the end,
it was I who was lost,
not you.

Its sad when we center our universe around someone who did not deserve. Great poem
