Once Upon an Hourglass

Dreamers

By Totem GirlPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Once upon a time, sipping mulled wine...

Spirits roamed high and hope divine

Innocence and the unknown in the air

Weightless expectations flew with flair

Reality knocked on the door, hard stance

Took away and ran with romance

Under his arms like a thief laughing

Moonwalked in the half-light smirking

What have you thought? Why did u expect?

You kind of knew there might be “only” respect

Which is a good present to have

Important building block, but weak alone

Need other elements to grow on

Time is a healer one way or another

But a scatter-brained, fickle keeper

You have to want it, truly and utterly

Fight it & might it willingly

Travel, discover and make true

Shrivel, but don't doubt, love yours truly

If you want a fair match, stride carefully

Take care of details, but don’t sweat it too much

Sweet everyday things, no need to make a fuss

surreal poetry
