If there ever comes a day

When we meet again

As older adults

You, standing in front of me

Someone else is with you

My heart would ache

But it healed at the same time

I found peace in you with someone else

They can comfort you

Help you in hard times

Smile with you

Laugh with you

And in that moment

Memories of us rushed back to me

A tear falls down my cheek

At the thought of you and me

But I could only tell the person next to you

To take care of you better than I did

And how, my darling

How, once upon a time

We used to be together.
