Once More Into That Feeling

Fond remembrances gone by.

Would it be that one could repeat the best part

The simple pleasure of experiencing it one more time

Like staring at a beautifully crafted work of art

Or hearing the magic of a beautiful poetic rhyme

-

Speed takes it all away like the snap of your fingers

Everything at the end feels like it went by in the blink of an eye

Gone faster than Christmas and those lovely bell ringers

Before you know it, you're left staring at the sky

-

To buy back a chance to experience the best, just once more

And know again that magical feeling inside

Do what must be done to keep from closing that door

The loss of all that's good, maybe you can stem the tide

-

Just one more dance between you and me before I go

The embrace unseen but felt with such warmth it's never forgotten

To know of loves sweet embrace, to live in its magical glow

And remember what a life it was before it all went rotten

-

To love once more

It's wasted on the young

Shades of a humorous turned tragic moment from "It's a Wonderful Life". To know love more fully as you age than you did when you were young is a treasure beyond measure.
