On Georgetown
She stopped to smell the flowers
Blooms forged from the thaw
Slowing down time
to savor a moment
Singular and shared
as life moved on around us
Her movements are intentional
driven by a knowing
of who she is and what she wants
Bold. Unafraid to
shine
An energy contagious and
intoxicating
She bends to the bloom
the face painted bright
with the afternoon
sun traveling along her body
It could only dream
to be as radiant as she
On playing the field
In a field of endless wildflowers
She is the bloom
To which I will always return
Too delicate to pluck
For I would not wish
To watch her wilt
Instead
I will nourish her soil
And savor her growth
As I bask in her beauty
On nighttime
I love the moon
And she loves the rain
The night’s glow lives in her
And I’ve an internal storm
That she’s helped to slow
to a refreshing spring shower
Quiet and comforting
The drink by which the earth’s thirst
Is quenched
