On Crystal Beach
A summer-based haibun poem that’s also available on AllPoetry (I'll link my profile down below for you to access)
On a warm sunny July afternoon, the flaxen light, pearl clouds and ivory birds paint the aegean celeste. Below the pointy moss green mountains, the song of the ocean waves play some music for the natives to hear. The cool tropical wind plays the drums and adds some beat to the song. The song went from a quiet, soft and slow chant to an upbeat hit that would be played for hours on end.
Turquoise waves splash.
Natures voiceless chant
playing nonstop all year round.
Creamsicle orange butterflies roam around the vast sea and land on the branches of the colossal citrus shrubs. The citrus shrubs are gigantic as golde marble statues. The striking citrus trees keep shedding, producing and providing. Tart and sugary lemons, limes and miniature rosy-red grapefruits tumble from the trees, down onto the banana yellow sand.
Sunny citrus shrubs.
Small exotic farms
that are open and free for all.
