Omer 5 - Kaleidoscopic Hands

hod of chesed

By Chaia LeviPublished 9 months ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

In recursive, sticky, taunting thoughts

lies the kaleidoscope

of proofs and solutions

in recursive, dizzying geometrics

within the electric pulses

pulling and pushing,

setting and going.

Within and without, we

fought,

stumbled,

begged

for home.

Slowly, kill the ego.

Slowly, peel back the rind

and release the dark juice

— again, again, again.

Each step concealed in shadows,

stepping down,

down,

down

in care for fear of falling, snapping.

It comes in the night,

sitting heavy, heaving, hobbling.

Dignity doesn’t live here

so I ask you to step inside, witness.

With baited breath,

I hand over the knife,

instructions terrible and clear:

cut open the skin,

tear into striations,

find the crack

and nestle within.

Tell me you like it.

Don’t leave.
