Omer 14 - the 14 winged thing
malchut of gevurah

Be not afraid—
14 wings in movement:
the thing which haunted
prophets, sages, and poets,
the tired, the sleepy, the unnerved.
Lurking in dizzying existence
on Occam’s razor’s edge of delusion,
yet still:
14 eyes stare, unblinking,
asking without mouth or breath in
incomprehensible scribbles
a commitment to the self,
a commitment to connection
in accordance to veneration
in face of hesitation.
But still…
What is needed beyond holds no use here,
what is needed in hand holds no use there,
so even in a shared tongue we miss understanding,
so even in want we miss what is said.
The 14 winged thing will visit again—
again, again, again—
in search of code crackers
with missing agendas
and eyes to see.

This project is not meant to be a literal use of counting the Omer. This is an exercise in following intuition with each day’s focus by drawing what first comes to mind and then writing what it evokes. In a sense, I reverse engineer my thoughts to see how I got to that’s days point rather than intentionally choosing symbolism, themes, and motifs. I want to see what is on my mind so I can follow them later. Maybe after the 3rd week I will have a clearer idea of what it is that is demanding my attention and what I need more understanding of.
