Ode to Sunset

Try not to miss this daily spectacle of nature

Another day, sunset time

Some people will not budge

from Netflix binge-watching

video games, or whatever

is more important to them.

but I can't skip it,

for I know the enrichment!

Standing in the backyard garden,

I saw the sun about to plunge

behind the shrub-cloaked hills.

Sparrows looked for last morsels.

Swallow flock flew overhead,

catching the fading sunshine.

Vocal crows returned home.

Sensing dusk, calendulas drooped,

the cobweb reflected rainbow.

I rushed to the cul-de-sac,

to appreciate the sunset better.

The trees turned to silhouettes,

Marine fog was rolling in

the valley looked serene.

Such a beautiful experience

 to witness and savor.

I urge you all,

my fellow earthlings,

 to make sunset-watching

a daily ritual.

It's better than meditation .

Also, the day that's gone

is not coming again.
