I don’t feel man enough,

My face is way too girly.

I can never be ‘tough’,

Coming off more as surly.

Being who I see in mind,

The man I know I am.

Leave the feminine self behind,

Not feel like a giant sham.

____________________________________

It’s deep in my head,

The person I want to be.

But the mirror lies instead,

Showing the unreal me.

____________________________________

Never know how to feel,

When I look at my face.

It started to seem unreal,

An imposter in my place.

____________________________________

Limited is my feminine shell,

It’s too hard to move around.

Womanhood is my social Hell,

Unable to drown out the sound.

____________________________________

Maybe one day I’ll be myself,

The person that I see.

Get off my mental shelf,

And finally I’ll feel free.
